‘Spirit-Filled Life : Creator Spirit’ – day three
Exodus 31 v. 1 – 5
‘Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 ‘See I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, 3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills – 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, 5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.’
Bezalel and his co-worker, Oholiab, are filled with the ‘ruach / wind / breath / Spirit’ of God, which equips them well, in the task of constructing and furnishing the tabernacle for worship.
In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit is given to:
specific people
for a specific time
with a specific purpose –
and that purpose can certainly be CREATIVE.
The Creator Spirit enables, inspires and equips creativity within each of us.
PRAYER
Breath, wind, Spirit of God
breathe in us
wisdom, understanding, knowledge
skills, crafts and abilities
to create new life, new opportunities,
new adventures,
for the sake of Your kingdom,
Your creative purposes
on earth as in heaven.
